Colorado Cowboy Casserole

COLORADO COWBOY CASSEROLE

A very satisfying meal to eat pretty much every day! This will surely be a part of your top food list. The taste of melted cheese is the best part of this dish so be very generous with it and don’t forget about the ground beef. Well, I don’t need to talk about the ingredients one by one, you just need to taste it yourself. Be prepared with the amazing aroma of this dish because the smell alone will make you wanna eat a lot!

Colorado Cowboy Casserole

INGREDIENTS

1 lb lean ground beef

1 can(s) cream of mushroom soup

1 c cheddar cheese, shredded

1/3 c milk, any kind

1 can(s) mild green chilies, 4 oz, undrained

1 can(s) corn, drained

1/2 onion, chopped

1 tsp garlic powder (or 2 cloves chopped fine)

1/2 tsp salt, sea

1/2 tsp black pepper, ground

1 tsp chili powder

2 1/2 c tater-tots

How to make Colorado Cowboy Casserole

Step 1: Ready the oven and preheat to 375 degrees.

Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 2-quart casserole dish.

Step 3: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add a little oil then add the ground beef until it turns brown. Turn off the heat and drain the excess fat.

Step 4: Turn the heat to medium and add the garlic, onions, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Once cooked, turn off the heat.

Step 5: Pour in the milk, cream of mushroom soup, undrained chilis, 1/2 cup of cheese, and drained corn into the skillet. Stir until well-mixed.

Step 6: Transfer the mixture into the prepared casserole dish. Spread the other 1/2 cup of shredded cheese followed by the tater tots. (The amount of cheese is optional. You can always add more.)

Step 7: Place in the oven and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes or until the texture becomes bubbly and the color turns light brown.

Step 8: Remove from the oven and let it sit on a wire rack for at least 5 minutes.

Step 9: Serve and enjoy!
