Classic Meatloaf

Meatloaf will never go out of style. It is a classic dish that everyone loves. If you search the internet, you’ll see a lot of meatloaf recipes. I have my favourites, and this Classic meatloaf is one of my top picks. It takes only ten minutes to prep using mostly pantry ingredients. Enjoy a tender, incredibly juicy with wonderful flavours any time with this easy Classic meatloaf!

INGREDIENTS

2 tablespoons butter

1 onion, diced

2 pounds ground beef, or half beef/turkey beef/pork

1 teaspoon oregano

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1 cup fresh, not dry bread crumbs

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 Eggs

1/2 cup milk

3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper

Topping:

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1/3 cup ketchup

How to make Classic Meatloaf

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Melt the butter in a skillet. Add the onion and saute until tender and start to turn golden.

Step 3: In a large bowl, place the ground beef, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, garlic powder, salt & pepper, then the sauteed onions.

Step 4: Beat the eggs with milk and Worcestershire Sauce in a small bowl.

Step 5: Into the large bowl, pour the liquid and mix using your hands until combined.

Step 6: Onto an edged baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a Silpat, scoop the mixture and form the meat into about 5 inches wide and 2 inches thick loaf.

Step 7: Combine the topping ingredients (brown sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce) in a small bowl until blended, then spread this over the loaf.

Step 8: Place in the preheated oven and bake the meatloaf for about an hour or until its internal temperature reached no more than 170 degrees (ideal temperature is 160 degrees). Remove from the oven when done and let the meatloaf rest for about 10 minutes.

Step 9: Slice and serve. Enjoy!
