Cinnamon Roll cake with cream cheese glaze

by Rebecca January 5, 2021

Prep: 30 mins | Cook: 30 mins

Super moist and gooey and better than the cinnamon rolls I used to. This cake is perfect for breakfast or dessert with a decadent cream cheese glaze. I am pretty sure you’ll ask for more than a slice!

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup of sugar

1 1/2 cups milk

2 Eggs

1 stick melted butter

TOPPING:

2 stick butter, room temperature

1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

2 tablespoons flour

1 tablespoon cinnamon

CREAM CHEESE GLAZE:

4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

1- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

4-6 tablespoons milk ( depending on how thick you like your glaze)

How to make Cinnamon Roll cake with cream cheese glaze

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: With bakers joy, grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Step 3: Combine the cake ingredients (flour, salt, sugar, milk, and eggs). Gradually beat in the melted butter until well mixed.

Step 4: Transfer the batter into the prepared pan.

Step 5: With a beater, mix the topping ingredients (butter, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon). If using cold butter, microwave it first for at least 10 seconds.

Step 6: In small mounds, drop the topping using a tbsp drop on the entire cake. Swirl or marble the topping using a butter knife. Be very careful not to scrape the bottom of the pan when doing this.

Step 7: Place in the preheated oven. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes.

Step 8: When done, remove the cake from the oven.

Step 9: Meanwhile, ready the glaze. Mix the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until you get your desired consistency.

Step 10: Glaze the slightly warm cake and let it cook for at least 30 minutes.
