This recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a little kid. A big thanks to my Grandma for this! Oh, man, you have got to give this one a try! A piece of this heavenly treat will surely make you want to eat the entire thing! Feel free to add more ingredients if you wish. This pie is best served pretty much all the time! 2 unbaked pie shells (9 in or larger)
2 stick unsalted butter, room temperature
3 3/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose
1/3 cup cocoa powder
6 Eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup plus 2 ounces buttermilk
Directions:
Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, add the butter and sugar. Beat until well mixed.
Step 2: Add in the eggs and beat until well combined.
Step 3: In a small mixing bowl, add the cocoa, flour, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
Step 4: Transfer the flour mixture into the butter mixture and whisk until well mixed.
Step 5: Add in the vanilla and buttermilk, then stir until well combined.
Step 6: Transfer the mixture into pie shells.
Step 7: Place the pie shells inside the oven and bake for 45 minutes at 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C or until done.
Step 8: Remove from the oven and let them sit at room temperature to cool.
Step 9: Slice into small pieces.
Step 10: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
Place any leftovers in an airtight container and put it inside the fridge.
By the way, I used an electric mixer to mix everything for this recipe but you can use anything you prefer.
