INGREDIENTS
2 Sticks Butter
5 c. Powdered Sugar
1/2 c. Cocoa Powder
1/2 – 1 c. Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla Essence
How to make Chocolate Buttercream
Step 1: Place the room temperature butter in a bowl of a stand mixer or a large bowl if you are using a hand mixer.
Step 2: For about 5 minutes, beat the butter at high speed until soft and almost doubled in mass.
Step 3: In thirds, add the sugar, beating every after each addition until fully combined. And with the last addition of the sugar, add the cocoa powder along.
Step 4: Adjust the mixer to low speed, then pour half a cup of milk into the buttercream mixture, scraping down the sides of the bowl. For a thinner consistency, add extra milk.
Step 5: Add in the vanilla essence and stir for another 2 minutes.
Step 6: Pipe the buttercream on your cupcakes or use it to decorate cakes.
