Chicken Divan Casserole

by Rebecca September 12, 2020

Prep: 15 mins | Cook: 30mins | Total: 45 mins | Servings: 10 | Yield: 10 servings

This is a classic casserole that your whole family will ask for over and over again. A dish that is packed with chicken and veggies with a burst in your mouth flavors. Serve this alongside a fresh, green salad and some Homemade Garlic Butter bread. Excellent addition to your weekly menu.

Ingredients

2 cups cooked, cubed chicken breast meat

1 pound fresh broccoli, cooked and chopped

1 cup mayonnaise

1 ½ tbsp curry powder

½ tsp cayenne pepper

½ tsp garlic salt

salt and pepper to taste

2 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese, divided

1 (10.75 oz) can condense cream of chicken soup

1 (10.75 oz) can condense cream of mushroom soup

1 (6 oz) can French-fried onions

HOW TO MAKE DIVINELY DIFFERENT CHICKEN DIVAN

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.

Step 2: In the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, spread the chicken and top with broccoli.

Step 3: Add the mayonnaise, curry powder, cayenne pepper, garlic salt, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl. Mix well before adding in a cup of Cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, and cream of mushroom soup. And mix well, then, pour this over the chicken and broccoli. Sprinkling the rest of the cheese and onions on top.

Step 4: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes.

NOTES:

When using leftover baked chicken breasts or rotisserie chicken, you can serve this dish in under 30 minutes. Perfect alongside a fresh, green salad and some Homemade Garlic Butter bread.

As an alternative, you can use cream of chicken, cheddar, or broccoli if the cream of mushroom is not available.

Others use sour cream for this chicken divan, but I prefer mayo. Either way, it’ll taste great.
