Want to make this casserole in advance? You can! Simply assemble and store in the fridge or freeze. If baking straight from the fridge, just add a couple of minutes more to the baking time. If frozen, thaw the casserole completely, then bake. Easy peasy!
Ingredients
1½ c. chopped cooked chicken
2 c. instant white rice
2 c. water
8 ounces diced ham
1 c. shredded Swiss cheese
1 (8 ounces) container sour cream
½ c. milk or water
1 (10.75 ounces) can Cream of Chicken Soup
HOW TO MAKE CHICKEN CORDON BLEU RICE BAKE
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees F. Using cooking spray, lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch pan and set it aside.
Step 2: Bring water to a boil in a medium saucepan. Once boiling, add the instant rice to the pan. Put the lid on and turn the heat off, allowing the rice to stand for about 5 minutes or until the water is completely absorbed.
Step 3: Place the chicken, ham, chicken soup, sour cream, Swiss cheese, milk or water, and cooked rice in a large bowl. Mix well until incorporated. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and spread.
Step 4: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake the chicken cordon bleu rice for about 20 to 25 minutes or until the cheese has melted and bubbly.
Notes:
For this recipe, you can use 4 cups of any cooked rice for the minute rice and water.
