Chicken and Dumplings Casserole

If you are feeling lazy, this casserole would be your perfect go-to meal for dinner. Easy to throw together with basic ingredients. This filling dish sure will keep you satisfied. Creamy and delicious, this Chicken and Dumplings Casserole is comfort food at its finest! Enjoy this alongside a salad for a complete meal.

Ingredients

1 chicken

1 small diced onion

1 stick butter

2 cups Bisquick

2 cups of milk

1 can(s) cream of chicken soup

1 tablespoon chicken broth paste(or cube)

1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

salt and pepper to taste

How to make Chicken and Dumplings Casserole

Step 1: With diced onion, salt, and pepper, boil a whole chicken. When tender, debone the chicken and dice. Set the chicken broth aside.

Step 2: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 3: For the first layer, pour a melted stick of butter into a 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Evenly spread the chopped chicken over the butter. Then, sprinkle the chicken with salt and pepper.

Step 4: For the second layer, combine 2 cups of Bisquick, poultry seasoning, and milk until no lumps remain. Slowly pour this over the chicken, and DO NOT STIR.

Step 5: Third layer: Mix 2 cups of warm broth and paste. Spoon the onions out of the broth using a slotted spoon (optional). Stir in the cream of chicken soup into the dissolved paste until the lumps are gone. Then, slowly and evenly pout this over the dish. DO NOT STIR.

Step 6: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes until golden brown, uncovered.

Step 7: When done, remove from the oven and let the casserole cool for at least 10 to 15 minutes.

Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
