Chicken and Dumplings Casserole

Prep Time: 1 hr | Cook Time: 50 mins | Total Time: 1 hr 50 mins

Three layers of deliciousness! This Chicken and Dumplings Casserole is a must-try!

Ingredients:

1 chicken

1 small diced onion

1 stick butter

2 cups Bisquick

2 cups of milk

1 can(s) cream of chicken soup

1 Tablespoon chicken broth paste (or cube)

1 teaspoon poultry seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Step 1: Place the whole chicken, sliced onion, salt, and pepper in a large pot. Add enough water to submerge the chicken.

Step 2: Place the pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Allow the water to boil and cook the chicken.

Step 3: Remove the pot from the heat and remove the chicken.

Step 4: Debone the chicken and slice it into small pieces.

Step 5: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

To arrange the first layer:

Step 1: Spread a stick of melted butter in a 9×12-inch baking dish.

Step 2: Arrange the sliced chicken over the butter and season it with salt and pepper to taste.

To arrange the second layer:

Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, add the poultry seasoning, Bisquick, and milk. Stir until well mixed.

Step 2: Pour the mixture on top of the chicken. Make sure not to stir.

To make the third layer:

Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, add paste and 2 cups of the chicken broth. Whisk until well mixed.

Step 2: Pour the mixture on top of the chicken. Make sure not to stir.

Step 3: Place the baking dish inside the preheated oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.

Step 4: Remove the casserole from the oven and let it sit at room temperature to cool for at least 10 minutes.

Step 5: Serve and enjoy!
