Ingredients
1 1/2 c. mini pretzel twists
1 1/2 c. cheese crackers
1 c. mixed nuts
9 c. Chex cereal (I use equal parts corn, rice, wheat Chex)
Sauce:
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ c. butter, melted
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp seasoned salt (I recommend Lawry’s)
1 tbsp tabasco or hot pepper sauce, optional
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (for spice) or smoked paprika
How to make Chex Mix
Step 1: Into a large bowl, place the cereal, cheese crackers, pretzels, and nuts.
Step 2: Mix well the melted butter with Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne.
Step 3: Over the cereal, gradually drizzle the butter mixture, tossing gently to coat.
Step 4: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 250 degrees F.
Step 5: Onto two baking sheets, transfer the Chex Mix. Spread it into an even layer. Place in the preheated oven and bake for an hour, stirring every 20 minutes.
Step 6: Take the Chex Mix from the oven when done and let it cool before serving. Enjoy!
Notes:
Pop in the microwave for about 5 to 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes, then shift to a baking sheet and let it cool. Serve and enjoy!
To a slow cooker, transfer the mixture and set to cook for 3 hours on low, stirring every 45 minutes.
You can make this Chex mix in advance. Consume within 2 to 3 days or place in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
To freeze, keep in a freezer-safe container or bag and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
You can serve this right away or keep it in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks.
For this recipe, you can use your preferred mix-ins in a 1:1 ratio.

Sweet Chex mix: Swap honey, cinnamon, chocolate, or vanilla Chex and use mix-ins like honey graham, craisins, m&m’s, coconut, chocolate chips, marshmallows, or small candies. You can even drizzle with sweet syrup or melted chocolate.
Substitute cereal: Use your favourite. Make sure to use a total of 9 cups.
For nut Allergy: Exclude the nuts and use extra crackers or pretzels.
