Are you looking for a party snack, then you have to give this Chex Mix a try. See the notes below for fun and delicious substitution.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. mini pretzel twists

1 1/2 c. cheese crackers

1 c. mixed nuts

9 c. Chex cereal (I use equal parts corn, rice, wheat Chex)

Sauce:

3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

½ c. butter, melted

1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

2 tsp seasoned salt (I recommend Lawry’s)

1 tbsp tabasco or hot pepper sauce, optional

¼ tsp cayenne pepper (for spice) or smoked paprika

How to make Chex Mix

Step 1: Into a large bowl, place the cereal, cheese crackers, pretzels, and nuts.

Step 2: Mix well the melted butter with Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne.

Step 3: Over the cereal, gradually drizzle the butter mixture, tossing gently to coat.

Step 4: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 250 degrees F.

Step 5: Onto two baking sheets, transfer the Chex Mix. Spread it into an even layer. Place in the preheated oven and bake for an hour, stirring every 20 minutes.

Step 6: Take the Chex Mix from the oven when done and let it cool before serving. Enjoy!

Notes:

Pop in the microwave for about 5 to 6 minutes, stirring every 2 minutes, then shift to a baking sheet and let it cool. Serve and enjoy!

To a slow cooker, transfer the mixture and set to cook for 3 hours on low, stirring every 45 minutes.

You can make this Chex mix in advance. Consume within 2 to 3 days or place in an air-tight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

To freeze, keep in a freezer-safe container or bag and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.

You can serve this right away or keep it in a sealed container for up to 2 weeks.
