1 tsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic minced
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp instant yeast (quick rise or bread machine yeast)
1 c. warm water
2 tbsp butter melted
2 tsp dried Italian herbs or dried oregano
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 c. shredded mozzarella
1 tsp kosher salt
How to Make Cheesy Garlic Bread
Step 1: Place the flour, yeast, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Mix well until combined. Pour in the warm water and mix well. Tent the bowl using plastic wrap and place it in the fridge for at least 8 hours up to 24 hours.
Step 2: When ready to bake, prepare the oven and preheat it to 425 degrees F. Using parchment paper, line a baking sheet.
Step 3: On a floured countertop, turn the dough out to coat with flour. Place in the prepared baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil. Spread the dough into an oblong shape using your hands (you can form the dough into any shape you preferred). Using a fork, poke the dough.
Step 4: Whisk the melted butter, garlic, and dried herbs in a small bowl until well blended, then evenly brush the dough with it. On top, evenly sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Step 5: Bake the dough in the preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes or until cooked through and the cheese is golden brown. If the cheese is browning too fast, tent the pan loosely with foil.
Step 6: When done, take the pan out of the oven and allow the bread to cool in the pan for a few minutes. Slice and sprinkle with some chopped parsley. You can serve this cheesy garlic bread plain, with pizza/marinara sauce, or with soup. Enjoy!
