Caramel Apple Dump Cake

Gooey caramel and delicious apple filling cloaked in a very soft buttery crunch topping – now that’s my kind of dessert! This is a wonderful recipe that you can whip up with only four ingredients. A family meal and impressive to serve to the company. You can choose to stick to the ingredients but feel free to change it up a little, And if you love nuts, sprinkle some on top for that extra crunch. Top it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream when serving, if desired. Caramel Apple Dump Cake – a beautiful dessert that’s perfect for all occasions!

Ingredients

1 yellow cake mix

2 cans apple pie filling, (21-oz. cans)

½ c. caramel sauce or topping

2 sticks butter, melted or sliced

How to make Caramel Apple Dump Cake

Oven-Baked Caramel Apple Dump Cake:

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: In the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, spoon cans of the apple pie filling.

Step 3: Evenly pour the caramel on top and sprinkle with cake mix.

Step 4: On top of the cake mix, evenly add thinly sliced pats of butter. If desired, you can melt the butter and just drizzle it on top of the cake mix.

Step 5: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes.

Step 6: To serve, slice the cake and top with a scoop of vanilla or your favourite ice cream. Enjoy!

Slow Cooker Caramel Apple Dump Cake:

Step 1: Grease a 6-quart oval or oblong slow cooker crock.

Step 2: Follow steps 2 to 4 as indicated above.

Step 3: Cover the slow cooker, set on high, and cook for 2 hours or 4 hours on low. Place paper towels or a tea towel under the lid of the slow cooker if desired to catch any water droplets that may form on the lid, making sure that the paper towels or tea towels are not touching the top of the cake.

Note:

To cut some of the fat, you can opt to use only a stick of butter.
