Candied yams are one of the easiest side dishes you can make. It’s a classic recipe that even our aunts, moms, and grandparents know how to whip up. I already shared this simple recipe with lots of my friends and colleagues. These candied yams are a lifesaver. They are super easy and simple to throw together using just a few pantry ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
½ c. (1 stick) butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 (15 ounces) cans of yams
½ teaspoon Salt
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
HOW TO MAKE CANDIED YAMS
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F.
Step 2: Start to strain the yams off, then place them into a small baking dish.
Step 3: Into small chunks, cut up a stick of butter. Sprinkle the chunks of butter all over the baking dish followed by the brown sugar and salt. On top, drizzle the vanilla extract.
Step 4: Put the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake the yams for about 25 to 30 minutes or until they are tender.
NOTE:
Feel free to double even triple the recipe if desired.
