1 tbsp mild paprika
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp chilli powder, add more if you like heat
3/4 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp brown sugar
1/2-3/4 tsp cayenne pepper (feel free to add more if you like)
1/4 tsp cracked black pepper to taste
Steak:
23 ounces (650 grams) steak, cut into 2” cubes (Sirloin, Rump, New York Strip, Porterhouse or Ribeye)
1-2 tbsp canola oil, divided
1/4 c butter
4 cloves garlic finely chopped
How to make Cajun Butter Steak Bites
Step 1: In a shallow bowl, mix the Cajun seasoning.
Step 2: Into the bowl with the seasoning, add the steak bites and toss to coat.
Step 3: In a skillet or pan, heat 2 tsp oil over medium-high heat.
Step 4: Once the oil is hot, add the steak bites in batches into the pan. Sear each side for about 2 to 3 minutes until the edges are browned and crispy. Add more oil if needed. When done, remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 5: Adjust the heat to medium. Add the butter in the same skillet to melt. Once the butter has melted, saute the chopped garlic for about 20 seconds until aromatic. Don’t forget to scrape any browned bits off the bottom of the pan.
Step 6: Remove the pan from the heat. Add the steak bites in. Give it a nice toss to evenly coat the chicken bites with the garlic butter. Serve and enjoy warm.
