Cabbage is underrated and most people don’t like cabbage but, there are a bunch of cabbage recipes online like this one that will make you enjoy cabbage in different ways. Cabbage is (yes) bland which makes it super easy to pair with just about anything! This dish will meet all your expectations. It is incredibly good, it’ll make you want to spoon right out of the pot!

INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 ½ pound boneless chicken thighs, cut into small pieces

1 medium cabbage

2 medium carrots (shredded)

1 tablespoon paprika

2 tablespoons tomato paste

1 c. chicken stock

salt, pepper

1 tablespoon hot sauce optional

chopped fresh parsley to garnish

How to make Cabbage Sauteed with Chicken

Step 1: On medium-high heat, warm a large saute pan. Add the olive oil followed by the chicken and cook for about 5 to 7 minutes until brown.

Step 2: In the meantime, into thin strips, slice the cabbage-like what you would do for coleslaw. To the chicken, add the paprika and tomato paste. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes more.

Step 3: Now, add the cabbage and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 4: To the pan, add the shredded carrots, chicken stock, and season with salt & pepper. Stir to combine the ingredients and cook for an additional 40 minutes while stirring often until all the liquid is gone, uncovered.

Step 5: if desired, add a tbsp hot sauce. Before serving, garnish with some fresh parsley. Enjoy!
