Biscuits and Gravy with Sausage and Egg Breakfast Casserole

Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 45 mins | Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins | Yield: 8 Servings

Oh, how I love to eat this every day! Give this recipe a try and I promise you that it won’t disappoint you. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

8 count packages of biscuit dough (we used Grands, which are slightly bigger)

6 Eggs

1 (2 3/4 oz) package peppered gravy mix (makes 2 c)

1 pound sausage, any flavour

1 c cheese, shredded

1/2 c milk

salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.

Step 2: Apply cooking spray in a 13×9-inch baking pan.

Step 3: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

Step 4: Add the sausage and cook for a few minutes until brown.

Step 5: Remove the sausage from the heat and place them on a clean plate.

Step 6: Slice the biscuit into 1-inch pieces.

Step 7: Arrange the pieces of biscuits on the bottom of the prepared pan.

Step 8: Top each piece of biscuit with the cooked sausage.

Step 9: Top the sausage with shredded cheese.

Step 10: In a small mixing bowl, add the milk, eggs, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well combined.

Step 11: Spread the egg mixture over the sausage and biscuits.

Step 12: Refer to the directions provided on the package of the gravy on how to make it.

Step 13: Pour the gravy over sausage and biscuits.

Step 14: Place the pan inside the preheated oven and bake for about 35 to 45 minutes or until done.

Step 15: Remove from the oven.

Step 16: Serve immediately. Enjoy!

Notes:

Feel free to prepare this dish the night before. Just make sure to adjust the cooking time by 20 minutes.

If the casserole gets too brown, cover it with foil to prevent it from burning.
