750 g skinless chicken
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup whole milk
1 cup of vegetable oil
2 cups flour
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
1 tbsp soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
HOW TO MAKE SOUTHERN FRIED CHICKEN BATTER
Step 1: In a bowl, break two large eggs.
Step 2: In another bowl, add the milk and the eggs. Whisk well to combine.
Step 3: Place the flour, chili and garlic powder, paprika, 2 tablespoons salt, and pepper in a zip-lock bag. Secure the bag and shake to combine.
Step 4: Add the chicken pieces in the bag and shake it again.
Step 5: Place in the fridge to soak all the flavors, preferably overnight.
Step 6: When ready to cook, first dip the pieces of chicken in the milk, soy sauce, and egg mixture. Place the chicken in heated oil and cook until brown.
Step 7: Remove from the oil and transfer on paper towels to drain.
Step 8: Serve the chicken alongside a vegetable side dish.
