If you want another filling, satisfying meal, then you have to give these beef tips a try. It is crazy good with tender beef smothered in a lusciously rich gravy! Pair this with rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles for the best-ever beef tips of your life!
Ingredients
1 onion, chopped
3 tbsp vegetable oil (or canola)
2 pounds cubed beef stew meat
1/4 c. soy sauce
2 c. water
1 tsp garlic powder (I use fresh garlic)
1 package brown gravy mix (.75 oz.)
1 c. water
1 tsp salt
1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp fresh ground pepper
HOW TO MAKE THE BEST-EVER BEEF TIPS
Step 1: Heat 3 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook, stirring often, until translucent.
Step 2: To the skillet, add the cubed beef and continue to cook for about 1 minute per side until the meat is no longer pink.
Step 3: Pour in 2 cups of water and add the Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce. Then, add the garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well and bring everything to a boil. Once boiling, decrease the heat and cover the skillet. Let everything simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Step 4: Whisk the gravy mix with 1 cup of water in a medium-sized bowl. Mix well until incorporated. Increase the heat, then bring everything to a boil, stirring continuously until the sauce has reduced and slightly thickens.
Step 5: When done, remove from the heat and serve immediately over mashed potatoes, white rice, or egg noodles with your preferred steamed vegetable and salad. Enjoy!
TIPS:
Feel free to leave out the tsp of salt and reduce the sodium soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown gravy mix for less salt/lower sodium.
I suggest adding red wine. Use 1/4 to 1/3 cup of wine to replace an equal amount of water (1/4 c. wine plus 1 3/4 c. water OR 1/3 c. wine with 1 2/3 c. water).
If you want you can add mushrooms, too!
