Best Creamy Stove Top Mac and Cheese

Ready in less than 20 minutes, this extra cheesy and delicious Stove Top Mac and Cheese will sure to put smiles on everyone’s face!

This is the perfect dinner especially if you have the pickiest eaters. And the secret to the smoothest and richest cheese sauce? Simple, it is the three kinds of cheese I used here plus the Greek yoghurt, and béchamel sauce. Cheesy goodness in a pot that is super easy to pull off and quick to make. What we have here are a winner and a keeper!

Ingredients

1 lb elbow pasta

1/4 c unsalted butter

1/4 c all-purpose flour

2 1/4 c milk

1 c plain Greek yoghurt

3 c shredded cheddar cheese

8 oz Velveeta cheese, cubed

1/2 c grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp ground mustard

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

How to Make the Best Creamy Stove Top Mac and Cheese

Step 1: Cook the pasta. Once done, drain and set aside.

Step 2: In a large pot, melt the butter. Once melted, sprinkle over the flour, stir, and cook for a minute.

Step 3: Pour in the milk. Whisking while cooking for several minutes more over medium heat until the mixture has thickened.

Step 4: Stir in the yoghurt, shredded cheese, Velveeta, Parmesan, seasonings, and salt and pepper until melted and creamy.

Step 5: Before adding the cooked noodles into the cheese mixture, run hot water over them first and drain.

Step 6: Allow the mac and cheese to sit for several minutes until thick before serving. Enjoy!
