Prep Time: 15 mins | Cook Time: 25 mins | Total Time: 40 mins | Yield: 2-3 servings

If you enjoy bang bang shrimp, you’ll love this bang bang chicken. Sweet with a kick, I am pretty sure you’ll quickly fall for this baked chicken. Yes, it’s baked and not fried for easy clean-up! Serve these tasty, crispy chicken bites with a tangy yet sweet sauce for an easy weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Sauce:

½ c. mayonnaise

1 ½ tablespoon chilli garlic sauce

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

1 teaspoon rice vinegar

Egg mixture:

1 Egg, beaten

¾ c. milk

Breading:

1 ½ pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1” cubes

1 ½ c. flour

1 ½ c. panko breadcrumbs

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon dried basil

How to make Bang Bang Chicken

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees F.

Step 2: With parchment paper, line a large baking sheet and set it aside.

Step 3: In a small bowl, place the sauce ingredients and mix with a spoon. Cover the bowl and set it aside.

Step 4: Whisk the egg and milk in a small bowl. Set aside.

Step 5: Add the flour, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic, and basil in a large Ziploc bag. Close the bag and shake to mix.

Step 6: Place the chicken into the Ziploc bag. Shake the bag a couple of times to bread the chicken. After, dip the chicken into the egg and add it back to the Ziploc. Coat the chicken again. Onto the prepared baking sheet, place the coated chicken in a single layer.

Step 7: Pop in the preheated oven and bake the chicken for about 25 minutes. While the chicken is still hot, add half of the sauce and coat. Then, sprinkle with a bit more dried basil.

Step 8: Serve the Bang bang chicken with the sauce on the side. Enjoy!

Note:

You can broil the chicken after baking for a more golden colour for about 2 minutes on each side.
