I love banana bread, banana muffins, and my new favourite banana cookies. Packed with chocolate chips and nuts, this lovely treat is so easy to whip up. Add your favourite like raisins, toffee bits, or pecans for a more personalized touch, and enjoy every bite! And this recipe is an ideal way to use up those ripe bananas.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup mashed bananas (around 2 medium bananas)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 stick butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 Egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
OPTIONAL:
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
How to make Banana Bread Chocolate Chip Cookies
Step 1: In a small saute pan, heat the butter until brown and nutty.
Step 2: Remove the pan from the heat and immediately stir in the white and brown sugar. Allow cooling for at least 5 minutes.
Step 3: Transfer the butter and sugar mixture to a large mixing bowl. Add in the egg and vanilla, then stir to incorporate.
Step 4: Stir in the banana and sour cream.
Step 5: Put the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in another bowl. Mix to combine.
Step 6: Then, fold in the banana mixture to the dry ingredients. Followed by the chocolate chips and nuts, if adding. You can add your favourite like raisins, toffee bits, pecans, etc.
Step 7: Put in the fridge to chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
Step 8: Onto cookie sheets, add an inch of dough (1 1/2 tablespoons) 2 inches apart.
Step 9: Place in the preheated 350 degrees oven. Bake for approximately 10 to 13 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are brown.
