The hot, satisfying, comforting meal that you can enjoy whenever!
INGREDIENTS
Meatballs (I used about 1 1/2 doz homemade meatballs that are fully cooked)
24 ounces jar marinara sauce (I like to use San Marzano Sauce)
1/2 yellow onion diced
3 cloves garlic crushed
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons olive oil
3/4 # spaghetti noodles
1-2 c grated cheese (half Colby-jack and half mozzarella)
1/2 c grated parmesan
How to make Baked Spaghetti & Meatballs
Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-low heat. Once the oil is hot, add the onions to the skillet. Saute for a few minutes, then add in the garlic. Continue to cook until the onions are soft.
Step 2: Add the cooked meatballs to the skillet with onions and garlic.
Step 3: Add in the marinara sauce and a tsp of Italian seasoning.
Step 4: Heat the meatballs for about 20 to 30 minutes over medium-low heat.
Step 5: Cook the spaghetti in another large pot following the package directions.
Step 6: Scoop the meatballs out of the sauce using a large slotted spoon and set aside.
Step 7: Again, using a large slotted spoon, scoop the spaghetti into the marinara sauce, followed by a cup of pasta water. Stir gently until the spaghetti is completely coated with the sauce.
Step 8: Add the cooked meatballs back to the skillet on top of the spaghetti.
Step 9: Sprinkle over with grated cheese and parmesan.
Step 10: Place inside a 350 degrees oven. Bake for about 20 to 30 minutes or until the cheese has melted and bubbly.
