BAKED MEATBALL RECIPE

by Rebecca January 21, 2021

PREP TIME: 10 mins | COOK TIME: 20 mins | TOTAL TIME: 30 mins | YIELD: 18 (1 1/2 tbsp Meatballs)

Skip the mess of frying, these oven-baked meatballs will change your end game. Easy and quick to make, these delicious baked meatballs are excellent for pasta dinners, sandwiches, or appetizers! Tender and juicy meatballs even without the sauce. These bad boys are screaming flavour!

INGREDIENTS

1 lb lean ground beef (I used 88%)

1/2 c Italian breadcrumbs

1/4 c fresh grated Parmesan cheese

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/2 small yellow onion, grated (or minced)

2 tbsp marinara

1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped

1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

1/2 tsp kosher salt

1/4 tsp fresh cracked black pepper

1 large Egg, lightly beaten

How to make BAKED MEATBALL RECIPE

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 375 degrees F.

Step 2: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3: Combine the ground beef, Italian breadcrumbs, Parmesan, minced garlic, onion, marinara, chopped fresh rosemary, parsley, basil, salt, fresh cracked black pepper, and lightly beaten egg in a large mixing bowl. Make sure to not overmix to prevent tough meatballs.

Step 4: Portion out the meat with 2 tbsp scoop onto a tray. Roll into balls, then transfer back to the baking sheet.

Step 5: Place inside the preheated oven. Bake the meatballs for about 20 to 22 minutes until brown and cooked through.

Step 6: When done, remove from the oven and place to a sauce. Serve immediately. Enjoy!

NOTES:

So the meatballs form better and crack less, make sure to lightly coat your hands with olive oil before rolling them into balls.

For a quicker recipe, feel free to substitute dried herbs and spices like a tbsp dried Italian seasoning in place of fresh herbs, a tsp garlic powder for the fresh garlic, or a tsp onion powder instead of fresh onion.
