Ingredients
1/2 c hot/chilli sauce (such as Frank’s Red Hot or Sriracha)
1/2 c brown sugar or honey
1 tbsp soy sauce (gluten-free for gluten-free)
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 cloves garlic, grated
1 pinch red pepper flakes
1 tbsp oil
1 lb boneless and skinless chicken breasts
salt and pepper to taste
How to make Baked Firecracker Chicken
Step 1: In a small saucepan, heat the hot sauce, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and chilli pepper flakes until the sugar melted.
Step 2: In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
Step 3: Meanwhile, season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Once the oil is hot, add the chicken into the skillet and fry for about 3 to 5 minutes on both sides or until brown.
Step 5: Place the dish into the oven and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes at 400 degrees F or 200 degrees C. Baste the chicken with sauce every 5 minutes.
Step 6: When done, serve with the rest of the sauce. Enjoy!
