8 chicken drumsticks about 2 pounds
2 tablespoons olive oil
Seasonings:
1 teaspoon of sea salt
½ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
¼ teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
How to make Baked Chicken Legs
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 425 degrees F.
Step 2: With aluminium foil, line a baking sheet and lightly grease with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.
Step 3: From the packaging, remove the drumsticks, then pat them dry with paper towels. In a bowl or resealable plastic bag, place the drumsticks. Add in the oil and toss to coat.
Step 4: Combine the seasonings in a small bowl. Add this to the bowl or bag with the drumsticks. Toss to coat.
Step 5: On the prepared baking sheet, transfer the drumsticks. Pop in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 to 45 minutes until the internal temperature of the meat reached 165 degrees or higher.
NOTES:
The ideal internal temperature of the chicken when done is 165 degrees F. But cooking it a bit longer will get rid of the blood spots if any around the bones and the chicken becomes more tender and juicy.
Store the chicken in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat when ready to eat but the skin won’t be as crispy.
