BACON CHEESEBURGER TATER TOT CASSEROLE

Made with hamburger, bacon, cheese, cheese soup, sour cream, and tater tots, this scrumptious casserole is ready in under an hour. Make this ahead if desired and simply store it in the fridge or freezer. Or divide between two 8×8-inch foil pans and freeze one pan for later. This delicious Bacon Cheeseburger Tater Tot Casserole is not only perfect for the whole family but is also excellent for entertaining the crowd, potluck, and tailgating. What not to love with this loaded casserole? This got bacon, hamburger, cheese, and tater tots. All the good things in one pan. So good you’ll want this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the same day.

Ingredients

1½ lbs ground beef

¾ c. cooked chopped bacon

2 c. shredded cheddar cheese

1 (32 ounces) package frozen tater tots

1 (10.75 ounces) can condensed cheddar cheese soup

1 (16 ounces) container sour cream

HOW TO MAKE BACON CHEESEBURGER TATER TOT CASSEROLE

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Using cooking spray, lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch pan and set it aside.

Step 3: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain the excess fat.

Step 4: Combine the cooked beef, bacon, cheddar cheese, tater tots, cheese soup, and sour cream in a large bowl, mixing until completely combined.

Step 5: Into the prepared pan, spread the mixture.

Step 6: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 45 to 50 minutes until bubbly.

Notes:

Substitute the ground beef with turkey.

For this recipe, you can use low-fat sour cream.

This casserole you can make in advance. Simply store in the fridge or freezer until ready to serve.

Add a couple of minutes to the cooking time after refrigerating the casserole.

If freezing the casserole, completely thaw before baking as directed.

To reheat after freezing, thaw the casserole completely, then tent with aluminium foil and bake in a 350 degrees F oven for about 30 to 40 minutes until thoroughly heated.
