This Apple pie is a classic! It is delicious and loaded with fresh apples. Super easy and quick to make. Serve chilled with ice cream or whipped cream.
Ingredients
CRUST:
1/2 c. butter, melted
2 c. all-purpose flour
3 tbsp cold water
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
FILLING:
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8 apples (use red or green)
1/2 c. heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Serve with additional whipped cream or ice cream (optional)
1/8 teaspoon salt
How to make Apple Cream Pie
CRUST:
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees F.
Step 2: Place the crust ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well until the ball forms. Using your hands, press the mixture into a 9-inch pie pan, making sure to even out the center of the crust with a flat-bottom glass. With your hands, crimp the edges, then trim the excess off.
FILLING:
Step 3: Into eights or quarters, cut the peeled apples. Place them in a large bowl and sprinkle the apple pieces with lemon juice. In the center of the pie crust, place the bigger apple pieces. To the edges, place the smaller pieces.
Step 4: Place the sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt in a small bowl. Mix well. Over the apples, sprinkle 3/4 of the dry ingredients.
Step 5: On top of the apples, slowly pour half a cup of whipping cream. Ensure the apple pieces gets some of the creams.
Step 6: On top, sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar.
Step 7: Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 10 minutes. Then, adjust the oven temperature to 350 degrees F and continue baking for an additional 45 to 60 minutes or until the apples are fork tender.
Step 8: Remove from the oven when done. Before serving, chill the pie in the fridge for 2 hours. If desired, serve the pie with ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy!
