Savory and incredibly easy to make. Pepper Steak has been one of my family’s favorites. It not only tastes amazing, but smells fantastic too! Pan-seared juicy and tender steak tossed in colorful sauteed veggies and a simple, yet flavorful sauce.

How to make Best Ever Pepper Steak
Step 1: Place the steak on a cutting board and cover it with plastic wrap. Using the flat side of the meat mallet, lightly pound the steak. Into 1/3 inch thick strips about 2 inches long, slice the steak. Then, pat dry with paper towels, separating the pieces. Set aside.
Step 2: In a mixing bowl, place the Shaoxing wine, soy sauce, rice vinegar, granulated sugar, black pepper, sesame oil, and cornstarch. Mix well and set aside.
Step 3: Drizzle 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil in a preheated non-stick skillet over moderately high heat. Add half of the steak and immediately spread them apart into one layer, making sure every piece has spaces between. Then, lightly sprinkle with salt.
Step 4: Sear the steak for about 45 to 60 seconds until the first side is nicely browned. Flip and sear the other side for another 45 to 60 minutes. To a sheet of foil or plate, transfer the steak.
Step 5: Add another 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the skillet and sear the rest of the steak. Once the steak is seared, move them into the same plate/foil. Then, add the last oil into the skillet and let it heat over moderately high heat. Next, add the bell peppers and saute for about 3 to 4 minutes until a little soft.
Step 6: To the bell peppers, add the green onions, garlic, and ginger. Saute for another minute. Give the sauce mixture a nice stir, then pour this into the skillet. Let it cook until thickened. Return the steak to the skillet.
Step 7: Serve the Pepper Steak immediately. Enjoy!
