Ingredients

1½ tsp. Kosher Salt

1 tsp. Garlic Powder

½ tsp. Onion Powder

¼ tsp. Black Pepper

2 – 2 ½ lbs Thick Pork Chops 4 pork chops

12 oz. White Button Mushrooms sliced

2 tbsp. Canola Oil

2 tbsp. butter

2 tbsp. Flour

1½ c. Chicken Broth

1 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce

How to make Mushroom Pork Chops

Step 1: In a small bowl, add the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix well and set aside a tsp of the seasoning mix.

Step 2: With the rest of the seasoning mix, season both sides of the pork chop.

Step 3: Slice the mushrooms but not too thin.

Step 4: In a large deep skillet heat the oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the pork chops for about 5 minutes on each side until golden and the internal temperature reached around 145 degrees F at its thickest part.

Step 5: Transfer the seared pork chops on a plate. Tent with a foil to keep them warm or put the pork chops in the oven or microwave.

Step 6: Using the same skillet, melt the butter over medium-low heat. Add in the mushrooms with the reserved seasoning mix. Gently cook the mushrooms, constantly stirring for about 3 minutes or so.

Step 7: Stir in the flour and continue to cook for a minute more while frequently stirring.

Step 8: Adjust the heat to medium and pour the chicken broth into the skillet followed by the Worcestershire sauce. Gently scrape the bottom of the skillet while you stir. Once simmering, adjust the heat to low and cover the skillet. Simmer for 5 to 7 minutes while irregularly stirring.

Step 9: If needed, adjust according to taste.

Step 10: When done, serve with the mushroom sauce alongside mashed potatoes.

Note:

Remove the cover of the skillet and adjust the heat to medium if the sauce is not as thick as you prefer. Simmer for several minutes until you reached the desired consistency.
