Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Prep Time: 10 minutes | Cook Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 4

A classic dish of beef sauteed with fresh broccoli florets and covered in a savoury sauce. Make this healthy dinner meal in just 30 minutes with simple ingredients and enjoy every bite!

INGREDIENTS

1 1/4 pounds flank steak thinly sliced

1 tbsp + 1 tsp vegetable oil divided use

2 c broccoli florets

2 tsp minced fresh ginger

1 tsp minced garlic

1/4 c oyster sauce

1/4 c beef broth or water

1 tsp sugar

2 tsp toasted sesame oil

1 tsp soy sauce

1 tsp cornstarch

salt and pepper to taste

How to make Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Step 1: In a large frying pan, heat a tsp of oil over medium heat.

Step 2: Once the oil is hot, add and cook the broccoli for about 4 minutes or until tender.

Step 3: Add the ginger to the pan and the garlic. Cook for another 30 seconds.

Step 4: Transfer the broccoli on a plate and cover.

Step 5: Use a paper towel to wipe the pan clean, then adjust the heat to high. Add the rest of the tbsp of oil into the pan.

Step 6: Season each piece of steak with salt and pepper. Add into the pan in a single layer and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes or until cooked through and brown. Cook the steak in batches if needed.

Step 7: Add in the broccoli mixture and cook for additional 2 minutes or until warmed through.

Step 8: Whisk the oyster sauce, beef broth, sugar, sesame oil, and soy sauce in a bowl.

Step 9: Mix the cornstarch and a tbsp cold water in a small bowl.

Step 10: Pour on top of beef and vegetables the oyster sauce and cook for 30 seconds more. Add in the cornstarch and bring the mixture to a boil. Cook for a minute more or until the sauce just started to thick.

Step 11: Serve quickly with rice. Enjoy!
