Ingredients
Bang Bang Sauce:
1/2 c. mayo
1/2 tsp sriracha sauce or less or more to taste
1/4 c. sweet chilli sauce
Bang Bang Shrimp Batter:
1-2 pounds jumbo shrimp shell off and deveined
1/2 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. cornstarch
1 c. Panko bread crumbs more if needed
1 tsp parsley or cilantro finely chopped, for garnish
1 tbsp avocado oil for brushing air fryer pan and shrimp
How to make Bang Bang Shrimp Air Fryer
Step 1: Place the sauce ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk to combine. Set aside.
Step 2: Prepare the air fryer. Preheat it to 400 degrees F. With a little oil, grease the air fryer pan. You can use whatever oil you like.
Step 3: First, coat the shrimp in cornstarch, dip in the buttermilk, then toss in bread crumbs. You have to do this in batches. To the air fryer pan, add the shrimp, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cover with the lid and cook for about 5 minutes. Flip and spray the other side of the shrimp with a bit of oil. Cover again and continue to cook for another 3 to 5 minutes until cooked through and crispy.
Step 4: Over the shrimp, drizzle the bang bang sauce and garnish with some parsley or cilantro. Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
To make this Bang Bang Shrimp in the skillet, after coating the shrimp, ready a nonstick skillet and preheat on medium-high heat, then drizzle about 1 to 2 tbsp of oil. Add the coated shrimp in the hot oil and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes per side until cooked through. To serve, drizzle with the sauce. Enjoy!
