Baked Bean Casserole

by Rebecca April 2, 2022

I am used to spicy baked beans, but I like this variety, too. It is not your typical spicy baked bean casserole which is perfect for your little ones. Made with only a few simple ingredients, this mouthwatering casserole is ready in no time.

This baked bean casserole is very adaptable. You can cut the recipe in half if needed or stick to the recipe if feeding a big crowd. This is perfect with BBQ, even slather on hamburger buns.

I was assigned to bring baked bean casserole for our weekend potluck. Everyone loves my baked bean casserole, so I have to make sure to whip up a big batch.

This baked bean casserole is incredibly delicious and a must for summer cookouts. If you haven’t tried this yet, you are already missing out!

Ingredients

6-8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled

2 15 to 16-ounces cans of pork and beans

1 1/2 pound ground beef

1 bell pepper, cleaned and chopped

1 small onion, chopped

1/2 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons spicy brown mustard

4 tablespoons brown sugar

1/2 cup barbecue sauce (I used Sweet Baby Ray’s)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

How to make Baked Bean Casserole

Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 350 degrees. Using cooking spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.

Step 2: Cook the ground beef with onion and bell pepper until the meat is no longer pink.

Step 3: To the ground beef mixture, add the rest of the ingredients except for the bacon. Mix well and continue to cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 4: Pour everything into the prepared casserole dish and top with bacon. Tent the casserole with tin foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for about 45 minutes, then take the foil off and continue to bake for 10 minutes more.

Step 5: Remove the casserole from the oven when done and allow it to stand for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
