Packed with flavour, this easy Slow Cooker Chicken Legs requires only five simple ingredients to make. A simple weeknight dinner that is a major crowd-pleaser. You can even throw in some of your favourite spice for extra flavour. And don’t forget the delicious sauce from when cooking the chicken. 3 to 3.5 lbs chicken legs or drumsticks
1 c. jam or jelly, see notes
1/2 c. ketchup
1/3 c. soy sauce
2 tsp minced garlic (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
How to make 5 ingredient slow cooker chicken legs
Step 1: In the bottom of a slow cooker, place the chicken legs.
Step 2: Add the jam or jelly, ketchup, soy sauce, and garlic in a small bowl. Mix well until everything is incorporated.
Step 3: Over the chicken legs, pour the sauce.
Step 4: Cover the slow cooker, set it on high, and cook the chicken legs for 4 hours. Or 5 to 6 hours on low until completely cooked through.
Step 5: Serve the chicken hot. Enjoy!
NOTES:
For this recipe, feel free to use all kinds of jams and jellies such as grape, apple, apricot, or peach. But I normally stay away from jams with seeds like blueberry.
This recipe is very flexible and versatile. You can add 1 to 3 tbsp of Siracha or any of your preferred hot sauce for some kick. Even a tsp Montreal Steak Seasoning for a bit of smokiness. Or pop in some spices like onion powder, cumin, or ginger.
